DIARY OF A LIAR Part 5 ( Approaching Codgerhood )

    Not really sure why I'm here tonight, just felt like writing.  Sometimes the writing process will jar loose something worthwhile.  At worst it could be something incoherent enough to appeal to a sense of the absurd. 

    I'll try for coherency first.

    The race situation here in St. Louis has taken a few odd directions but too many of the wrong folks of all colors have done or said some really damaging, trust eroding shit.  Not that race relations in St. Louis were that great to begin with.  Lots of Orwellian stuff going on here up to and including the " constant state of war "  and hate sessions via television.

      I'm glad I'm older and at least got to live in what appeared to be a sane world for a little while.  John Kennedy was President and we were poised to colonize space.  We had a silver aluminum Christmas tree and my brothers and I all got paisley shirts one year.  There were three or four garage bands in the neighborhood who vied for gigs at teen towns at churches whose names all began with Our Lady Of .  I was terrified of being fried by Russian A Bombs which fueled a lot of survival fantasies.  I WANTED to survive a nuclear holocaust.  I was Mad Max way ahead of my time, in my head at least. 

      In three weeks I will turn sixty but I have felt energized since the Mayan Time Shift of 2012.  I had missed the last Harmonic Convergence and paid dearly for it.  I became a Southern Baptist until Jesus appeared to me in a dream and told me to get real and cut that shit out.
