The brightest light is the one found in darkness.

 If you are surrounded by nothing but bright light, you will be blinded by it and never regain sight from your blinded eyes. You'll lose yourself endlessly wandering blindly. However, if you wander in darkness, you may find the true light and discover your true self, as long as you do not get lost in the dark.

I experienced this as I wandered through darkness for 3 years. The spirit world reached out to me many times. I knew it was calling and showing me wonderful signs. It wasn't until I reached the bottom at the point where it made no difference if I lived or died. I had lost everything except my life and I didn't know where I would even be the next day. My only goal was to make it to tomorrow. I manifested a light at the end of a long tunnel. It was all I had to hang onto. I never prayed because I am a god cannot pray to myself. Then everything turned around like a reverse domino effect. I did not come out without permanent damage to my body but my spirit recovered and 3 years later I am the best off that I've been in 10 years although I became physically disabled through my ordeal
