Old Folk Art Duality Mask - Carved Wood ca. 1955-1959
Another demonstration of old folk art at its best.
The carver/maker is unknown; yet he/she truly lives on in unquestionable testament presented by this splendid work of art.
Based upon a quite similar acceptance of the duality principle which seems to manifest within this kind of "reality", this rendition wouldn't necessarily be recognized as being akin to the Duality Spirit Mask Sculpture created by Inuit Artist Glenn Tootkaylok elsewhere in this grouping of photos...
...for me, however, the relationship between the two is nothing short of striking.
