SPELL-A-DAY

Need to get rid of something in a hurry? This spell will do just that, and all it requires is a pin and a bar of chocolate. Start by using a pin to write what you want to get rid of on the chocolate bar. This could be a bad habit or a friendship that has reached its end. You don't have to be super detailed, but write enough to make your intention clear.When you are done writing, take your chocolate and set it outside in the sun away from your home if possible. Set the bar in a place where it won't be disturbed and animals won't be able to eat it, and say:I now rid myself of whatI no longer need.As this chocolate melts I shall be freed!The spell is done when your chocolate has melted and you can no longer read the words you wrote on it. Ideally you want to work this spell on a warm, sunny, dry day. Dispose of the chocolate in a trash can.

Common Threads Spell

Today is known as Thread the Needle Day, which celebrates the idea of successfully navigating a difficult situation or limited window of opportunity in order to resolve a conflict. If you've ever tried to thread an actual needle, you'll understand how the expression came to be. Figuratively or physically, threading a needle takes patience, skill, and good (in)sight. If you're trying to bring two or more opposing sides or viewpoints together to end a dispute or promote community, here's a handy spell to try.For each person or side, assign them a three-inch square piece of cotton cloth. (Your choice of color or patternandmdash;you can get creative if you'd like!) Write their name or opinion on one side. Next stack the squares of cloth so the names/ issues face inward. Then using black thread, either by hand or by machine, sew them together along the sides, focusing on unity and resolution. Finally stitch an X from corner to corner across the squares, fully uniting them. Place the sewn square on your altar or in a place where these folks will meet up next.

A Pop of Protection

This is a good protection spell, and it's also fun to do! You'll need an empty toilet roll, a pen or Sharpie, two pieces of tissue paper, some corn flour, and some salt. The spell is finished outdoors, so make sure you have somewhere you can safely go and make a bit of an environmentally friendly mess!Draw a square on the toilet roll. Put one piece of tissue paper in one end, and fill the toilet roll with a mixture of corn flour and salt. Put the second piece of tissue into the other end of the toilet roll.Take the filled toilet roll outside. Turn around clockwise four times while holding it. As you do this, repeat:You can't touch me.I was born to be free.On the last "free," clap your hands together onto the toilet roll. This will loosen the tissue and the contents should come spilling out! Dispose of the empty toilet roll in a suitable receptacle.

Nature fuels our imagination and connects us to the power of the Earth.For this spell you will need a flower, a plant, an herb, or a tree that calls to you. Hold the flower, plant, or herb in your hand. If it is a tree, give it a hug. Breathe in the essence of the plant, flower, herb, or tree. Take a moment to connect with its Earth essence. Allow yourself to be one with its earthly goodness. Blessed be!

It's that fabulous time of year again whenandmdash;according to tropical astrologyandmdash;the Sun enters Leo! Being a Sun sign Leo myself, I couldn't not make mention of this miraculous period.To take advantage of Leo's abundant, generous blessings at any time while the Sun is in Leo (until August 22), simply go outside holding a small offering such as a stone, a leaf, a flower, or some herbs. Face the Sun and take six very deep breaths. Carve the Divine Names "Eel kanno taf" onto the black candle.

Anoint the candle with Banishing Oil.

Burn for nine nights, each night reading Psalm 94.

Put the candle out after Psalm is done (NOT by blowing it out).

On the last night let the candle burn all the way down.

While the candle burns (on each night), meditate and focus strongly on the aim in mind.

Imagine strongly the person leaving you alone; imagine strongly their evil deeds turning back onto themselves. Perform this for about 5 minutes each night before you pray the Psalm.

(Note: a purple candle could also work for this, but used black if this person had been very harassing in a serious way).

Instructions: Sit in a quiet place that is special to you. Hold a white or cream candle in your hands and visualize the area of your life that this candles energy is needed in. After you light this candle the energy will come to you.

It may come right away or when you least expect it.

When you are ready recite the spell or use your own words of power.

This candle I see before me, its color so bright,

It holds my needs of change in its light.

I call in the forces higher than I

To release the energy that is held inside

May it work for me in the most correct way,

Harming none and helping all as it leaves my stay.

I call on thee in perfect trust and love sending me guidance from above.

This I make happen and so be it will.

Take away this thing that brings me ill.
