A Pre-Yule Invigoration Flame
Can you believe it's almost the Winter Solstice? Also called Yule, Midwinter, and many other names, this is a sacred time for those of us who walk in alignment with the seasons. (For folks in the Southern Hemisphere, it is currently approaching Midsummer.)Because we are soon to formerly welcome back the Holy Sun/Son at this time, let's put a little fire in our step to amp us up in preparation!At nightfall, simply light a candle of any color. (Black, white, and fire colors are ideal.) When alone and all feels calm, take deep breaths and admire the flame. Declare:Approaching Yule, I'm so excited; the sacred flame is now ignited!Briefly touch your right hand to the flame and then touch all your chakra points. Jump over the candle if you wish. Let it safely burn out after any additional prayers or rebirth-centered magick has been completed.Cookies for the Queen of Heaven
This is Bake Cookies Day. Have you heard the term "Cakes for the Queen of Heaven" before? Many Pagan traditions included one or more days for baking special cakes, cookies, or other treats for their goddessandmdash;or god, as in Egypt it was for Osiris.Now is a perfect time to make Pagan cookies. Find cookie cutters shaped like pentagrams, deer, cats, trees, stars, goddesses, gods, or whatever other themes suit your patron(s). You can also make round cookies and write runes or blessings on them with icing. Nuts or seeds work well for dedicating cookies to a god, and dried fruit for an orchard deity. As you work, charge them with positive energy by saying:Cookies for the Queen of Heaven,Cookies for the King of Earth,Cookies for my friends and family,In the season of our mirth!Once done, you can serve the cookies for a celebratory feast or use them during the cakes and ale portion of a ritual.Stay Calm Spell
This ritual will help you cope with those last-minute holiday nerves. Perform it first thing in the morning. Begin by standing and facing east. Ground and center, then say:I will watch my words, I will watch what I say,I am perfect calm, I am perfect peace,Today and every day.Still facing east, raise your power (dominant) hand and visualize a blue light streaming from it. Begin to turn clockwise, still seeing the blue light. When you return to your original position, lower your power hand. The blue light will remain with you throughout the day. As you go about your day, if you find yourself in a stressful situation, remember your Words of Power and your shield of blue light. You will make the right choices and say the right thing. You may even see the blue light at a time like this. You'll make it through the rest of the holiday season just fine.Stress-Free Traveler Spell
No matter when you get on a plane, it often feels like all the bin space has already been claimed by your fellow passengers. To make sure we can always get our bags in the bins, we carry sachets for luck and success in all our carry-on luggage.To make the sachet, you'll need a small piece of fabric, a piece of string, and a few dried herbs from your kitchen pantry. You can use whatever herbs you want here (be sure they are dried!), but we recommend basil, rosemary, bay leaves, chamomile, and cloves, because you are likely to already have a couple of these at your house. Crush all the herbs up and place them on your piece of fabric. Lift the four corners of the fabric up and tie your sachet shut while saying:My journeys shall be easy and stress-free.All the space I need shall come to me!Place one sachet in every bag for which you need overhead space.Pulling the Year Forward
This spell is best performed on the last full moon of the year.Here is what you'll need:A small Mason jar with a lidWater to fill the jarQuartz crystal pebbles or pointsOn the day of the full moon, gather water from a spring, river, ocean, or other free-running source of water. Rainwater or tap water will also work. Put the quartz pebbles or points in the jar and fill with the water. Seal the jar and place it in a special place, like on an altar. As it becomes dark and the moon begins to rise, take the lid off and place the jar outside. As the water begins to collect the moon's energy, think back over the past year. Remember all the joyous times. Name them, speak them out loud, and say:I pull this joy into the new year. Let these crystals focus my energy, bringing joy and happiness with me. Let this moon water be a reminder of happy times.If hard times come your way, open the jar and anoint yourself with your magickal tools with this water. *~A Spell to Find a Furry (or Finned or Feathered or Scaled) Friend~*
Adopting a pet isn’t always an easy process. Filling out applications, waiting, and then meeting potential future family members can be as tiring and frustrating as it is rewarding. To ease the process, write the name of the type of animal you want to adopt on a blank piece of paper, and place it on your altar ( you can also make a general statement, such as “Let the right animal for me come to me”). Weigh the paper down with four stones: rose quartz for the love you will give and receive, smokey quartz for endurance of the adoption process, garnet for the commitment you will be making, and turquoise for the joy you will give and receive through the pet ownership. As you place each stone, speak your desire aloud:
Paw, claw, fin, or feather,
I know we will find each other!Leave the message on your altar until your new family member joins you.

SIMPLE ITEM LOCATION SPELL
Items needed:
- writing surface and writing utensil
- pendulum (or a necklace with a large pendent)
Steps:
- draw the layout of the area that you believe the item is located
- picture the item clearly in your head and hold it there
- take the pendulum and hang it over the picture, chant this “(insert item’s name) where have you gone? I’ve come to claim you from things lost. You are mine, and I shall find you”
- continue chanting this, and allow your pendulum to move freely (it will direct you towards where it is on the map
