Summer Bucket List Spell
We are about halfway through the summer. If you haven't done the things you wanted to do yet this summer, it's time to start your Summer Bucket List. On paper, write down your goals for this summer. Limit your list to one to five goals. It can be anythingandmdash;go to the beach, go camping, host a barbecueandmdash;but make it fun! By each item, make some notes about how you might accomplish your activities. Then say these Words of Power:Summer is at hand, and I have a plan. Here are the things we'll do And the places we'll see, Just my family and me. Keep your list where you can see it, perhaps on your altar or on your refrigerator. As you accomplish a goal, cross it off your list. You could also do this spell with your family or friends.Raise Your Power
In the United States, we celebrate our Independence Day with parades, fireworks, and family gatherings. Make this the day to celebrate your own independent spiritandmdash;raise your power with fire, dancing, chanting, drumming, or whatever your wild heart is drawn to do.A simple way to raise power is by using sparklers. Whether solitary or in a group, light your sparklers and raise them high. As you do so, chant something like this:I am one with the Air that moves me. The Goddess/God is within me. I am one with the Fire that ignites my power. The Goddess/God is within me. I am one with the Water that flows through me. The Goddess/God is within me. I am one with the Earth that grounds me. The Goddess/God is within me. Remember, ritual doesn't have to be complicated. Be confident in your power and work your magick in a way that suits your needs, personality, and personal connection to deity.Wisdom of Cerridwen
This day before Independence Day in the US is also the Feast of Cerridwen in the Celtic neo-Pagan calendar. Cerridwen is the Cymri (Welsh) goddess of wisdom, sorcery, transformation, and rebirth. She possesses a sacred cauldron of Awen, or poetic inspiration.Outdoors, carefully light a sparkler, which represents the flame beneath Cerridwen's magickal cauldron. Trace the burning sparkler in a triquetra shape, starting in the middle, while chanting:Flame of Cerridwen, light my way, Bring me knowledge every day. Flame of Cerridwen, Awen bright, Bring me wisdom every night.When the spell is completed, carefully extinguish the sparkler or place it in a safe container until it has burned out.Light It Up
Fire is a great tool to help us burn away the things we want to remove from our lives. Spend some time thinking about it and make a list of the things you need to rid yourself of: debt, obstacles, bad habits, etc. Be as specific as possible.In a safe place and manner, set your list on fire. While it's burning, say:Take these things from my life. Up in flames I send this strife. Allow the list to burn fully. Relight it if necessary.Bead Divination
If you're a crafter, you may have a collection of multicolored seed beads (very small beads). If not, you can usually find an inexpensive bag of them at the dollar store. All you will need for this divination is the bag of beads and a tray or plate with a rim around the edge.Reach your hand into the bag of beads while asking what theme or vibe this month will have for you. Scoop up some beads and put them on the plate or tray. Now separate them by color. Count how many beads there are of each color for some insight into what the month might bring.
