Just visit Nepal in May for the Maha Shivaratri in katmandu! What an experience! Too bad they dont allow non-indians inside the Temple.

That must have been a wonderful experience!

Shiva doesn't care for convention - to crystallize any worship does seem a pity indeed. Lord Shiva is the champion of those who are somehow marginalized by mainstream society - the outcasts and eccentrics. I feel the walls of a Temple are holy, however Spirit knows no such artificial boundaries or restrictions

I suppose perceived differences will forever be the most important thing to many people, until at the end, they find themselves just ashes like the rest of us?
