Kittens mean I'm adorable, right?

Unraveling dreams is all about getting below the surface, but the meaning of some common dream symbols may shock you. Based on your dreams, take a look at these 15 dream symbols and their surprise meaning:

  • Chocolate Chocolate bars, chocolate brownies and chocolate cake should be the ultimate indulgent fantasy, but alas, it was not meant to be. Chocolate is a euphemism for feces, especially in the sense oftotal BS. If you see chocolate in your dream, consider how some idea is bunk that's candied up to look legitimate.
  • Telekinesis Being telekinetic is a great power in the comics, but not so in slumber. If you move objects using only your mind in dreams, it usually means your ideas are formed from mental effort alone, with no support in reality. For this reason, dream telekinetics often lift objects of status and ego to heights they have not really attained, or pushes aside information the dreamer has trained their mind to ignore.
  • Vanquishing an Enemy If you dream of conquering opponents, you may not be the champ you think you are: in truth, "enemies" often showcase what you reject, neglect, or suppress in yourself. Violence against these dream characters describe the extremes a mind will go to suppress incovenient truths. Granted, it is healthy to beat some opponents, but for the most part, you could stand to be more open-minded and receptive to the unknown.
  • Kittens Think that furry little dream kitten could only be an innocent ball of cute? Get this: kittens represent the inner mal; kittens are literally bad ideas. More unfortunate, frolics with lovable kittens only showcase the strong connection an individual has to their inner pathology, while kittens that run amok or multiply describe uncontrolled psychological disorders.
  • Demons Demons in dreams cause some to wonder if they encountered a real demon, but demons actually depict what the dreamer's mind demonizes, or what it cannot accept gracefully (such as intimacy, old age, or commitment). If you see a demon in your dream, consider how the idea it stigmatizes aroused some deep-felt fear or objection in yourself, even if it is not inherently evil.

"I had a really weird dream where this lady flirted and tried to seduce my husband... And he went along with it! Please? Help?"

In dreams, a mistress may simply display what would have you connect better with your spouse's needs. If you tend to worry about connection in your relationship, think of the dream as a visual answer or solution.

  • Cheating Come down from the shock and consider two meanings these dreams generally fall into: 1) If the dreamer worries about how they can be a better partner themselves, the characteristics of a dream mister or mistress answer their question, showcasing an attitude or persona that would help them better connect to their companion's needs. Alternatively, 2) the features of the dream mister or mistress indicate where the dreamer feels neglect from their spouse. For example, dreaming one's husband ran off with a blonde in a jersey suggests the dreamer feels neglected by her husband's love of sports.
  • Snakes Snakes are spiritual symbols, but they are not symbols of Satan, sin, or worldly temptations. Snakes are no harbingers of evil at all: rather, their appearance in dreams mean we have an opportunity to evolve our beliefs, stances, or morality, especially principles that form personal lines we had never realized (nor crossed) before.
  • '666' Seeing 666 flash in a dream (the number of the Beast according to the Book of Revelation) can easily lead the dreamer to conclude they've encountered absolute evil. But this tells more about the dreamer's valuations and temperament: 666 heralds the approach of transformative ideas and processes the dreamer doesn't want to undergo. In some respect, the dreamer must confront their personal bête noire, such as some life lesson, adulthood, or attaining healthy self-esteem.
  • Homosexual encounters Don't psyche yourself out; homosexual dreams, for the hetero, doesn't mean you ought to question your sexual preference. Rather, homosexual dreams are triggered when we choose healthy self-acceptance, especially inspite of the status quo or other social pressures. For better insight on what has finally achieved acceptance, examine the features or qualities of the same-sex partner.
  • Cartoons When dreams switch to cartoon mode, it seems like we've paused for a fun or trippy sequence. Actually though, cartoons demonstrate where our ideas are not very realistic, especially hopes and aspirations that are pure fluff, in some sobering way.

“In a cartoon setting deep underwater, I see a prince swim for treasure. He goes above water and everything turns from cartoon to the real world. We put the treasure on a bed, and I had to cover it because several mean girls were trying to take it from me."

Unfortunately in dreams, cartoons do represent our unrealistic ideas. You may need to consider how an ideal companion is expected to fulfill all your needs and personal value -- the treasure he easily picks up, deep down. You may not allow value to be placed on the many talents and character traits you possess, shown as the "mean" girls that are not allowed to interfere with your value placement.

  • Broken Teeth Broken teeth dreams are very common, very unnerving, and very shrouded in old wives' tales and complex psychological definitions alike. In reality the meaning is quite simple: teeth are the hardest bones in our bodies, and they metaphorically represent ideas that have hardened into matters of principle, integrity, and what we stand for. A blow to these ideas is a blow to our very being in some way, such as silently enduring exploitation, settling for mediocrity, or having one's heart broken.
  • Pornography Dreams of hiding, transporting, or sharing pornography seem raunchy and obscene, but take heart: pornography doesn't symbolize dirty little secrets or anything bad about our character. Pornography represents information about ourselves that is kept strictly private, to be shared with a select few or in careful ways we know are safe. As a result pornography often symbolizes what makes us unique or iconoclastic, but it is a delicate thing that others will not readily understand.
  • Death of Mother Don't panic if you experience this common dream about mom: you get news that your mother has died, or you see mom tragically expire. Her dream death does not portend her real death in waking life; it actually signals the end of a former mindset or chapter, not to mention a beginning to soon follow. In dreams, your mother is symbolic shorthand for your most trusted views, beliefs, and mental approaches to life. The death of these concepts allows new questions and inroads to be made in life, making this a wonderful dream of coming of age.
  • Drinking Blood Drinking blood is one icky dream to have, but allow the meaning to knock the edge off your queasiness: this dream is essentially primordial, holding onto some long-forgotten significance. It basically means you are taking in pure energy, perhaps by emptying out the energy in some former idea or mindset.
  • Winning the Lottery Don't get me wrong: winning the lottery is a good thing in dreams, just not necessarily a sign you will win next week's jackpot. In dreams, money represents the value of the soul; winning the lottery is stumbling upon some tremendous value within oneself. The dreamer is often surprised at how valuable some skill or talent they possess truly is. ✽

Interesting!  Somehow I'm not surprised though having taken a look at a few dream symbolism dictionaries.  Too bad about the chocolate!!

Hahah yes too bad.....

I once had a dream of winning the lotto, and moving to Dallas.

As with porno, I just had a dream where porno movies were involved, though I was not in the area where they were being shown.

I did have one dream of a snake swimming along in the water where I was. I had this dream the night after my boyfriend (who is from Africa) told me that snakes will leave you alone as long as you leave them alone. In the dream I think I was scared at first, but then remembered this advice, and was ok with the snake being there.
