SUGGESTION IN RE OF SOLAR ARCS / ASTROLOGICAL PROGRESSIONS

I always suggest people studying...

SOLAR ARCS / ASTROLOGICAL PROGRESSIONS

To:

a) Create one's own personal Age/Event List from age 1 to present
age... (We all know what were the major events of our lives and with a bit of
help from parents and siblings, we may even recall the ones that we have
forgotten about...

b) Erect a simplistic progression of the Natal Chart (1 degree per
year of age) and investigate each and every year by comparing list of actual
events and the events indicated by the astrological progression itself as
changing signs, changing houses, hitting/becoming conjunct (within 1 degree or
less of orb) an angle or a Cusp, or another Planet (chiefly the Personal
Planets primarily and the Outer Planets secondarily), or to a major or
personally meaningful-to-you Asteroid, or to a Uranian/TransNeptunian Planet,
or to an important/Trigger-Happy Mid-Point as for instance (Sun/Moon,
Mars/Saturn, Venus/Mars) etc, or to one of the Major Stars degree as Caput
Algol, Hamal, Canupus, Thuban, Regulus, Aldebaran, Formalhaut, Antares, Sirius,
Spica, Betelgeuse, etc, or to a personally significant Arabic Part (Part of
Dedicated/Natrual Passion Ascendant + Mars - Sun) and/or to a personally
significant Uranian Formula also known as Planetary Pictures (Uranus + Neptune
- Uranian Aries Point = Metaphysics/Magick-In-Action, etc)...

c) Explore the wealth of available "Attributed
Meaning/Significance" to each of the 360 Degrees of the Zodiac via for
instance Sabian Symbols (I prefer Lynda Hill and/or Dane Rudyar's Versions)
and/or Sepharial's La Volasfera Degrees and/or Charubel's Degree of the Zodiac
Symbolised and/or Donna Walter Henson's Degrees of the Zodiac and/or Inside
Degrees by Ellias Lonsdale!

d) Don't be freaked out or scared by what you discover! Ask
questions, we all are here to help one another and there is no reason for fear
because "Fear Only Knows How To Hurt".

If somebody may say but what if I shall find myself sinking in
problems that I may find and do not know how to handle... I always say what my Mum used to
tell us as children - If sinking do quickly become a diver or you shouldn't be playing in
any water whatsoever until you learn how to swim!

Wow! Thanks so much for the suggestions and resource list.

I've been studying astrology for twelve years, but transits have been my only tool for most of it.

Took a couple of classes with Steven Forrest a few years ago, and he got me interested in using Progressions. Since those classes, I've been peeking at the SA Direction and Secondary Progressed charts of my clients to see what planetary hints are also voicing some of the same shifts their transit story is telling. To be honest, I've taken progressions with a big grain of salt so far- just focusing on them if somethings hitting an angle, or an important ingress is in the works.

You mentioned a book by Noel Tyl: Solar Arcs (Astrology's Most Accurate Predictive System)

This title gives quite a sales pitch, and now that I've had a day to explore some of the stories of the Solar Arc Direction events of my life, I'm officially sold!

The SA Direction Progressed-to-Natal (both planets and house cusps) events of my life have been lining up pretty succinctly.

I'm excited to start giving more attention to this part of the art.

All of the Books in the recently Suggested Books List have something good to offer... I do favour Writers like Noel Tyl just because I am fond of his writing style... But they all are very good indeed!

Been kicking around on Astrology since very early age... My best guides (Real & true Inspiration which has provoked me to find, to learn most of what "I think that I may know" in Astrology) have been different Translations (whether in English, in Portuguese and/or in French) of the dear Works of  Astrology as the Works of Claudius Ptolemy, Manilius, Firmicus Maternus, Rhetorius the Egyptian, Claudius Dariot,  J B Morin, William Lilly, Abu 'Ali Al-Khayyat, Dorotheus of Sidon, Al Biruni, Porphyry of Tyre,  Guido Bonatus, etc…
