Here are a few things you can do to help the planet from online your computer right now:
Aveda is donating a 1$ for every person who Check's In to protecting and bringing awareness to clean water sources and in rebuilding and repairing eco damage in Japan.
Click their Check In button to go to their Facebook Page to participate, this costs nothing but your time!
The following are click through donations, where organizations donate on your behalf when you click through the links, there are also additional causes that are not environmental related on the website, I have added those which are more earth day related below. This costs nothing but your time!
Play this vocabulary game and give rice to the hungry as you win.
Things you can do around the house right now:
Turn off any lights or electronics that aren't being used.
Minimize the use and waste of water.
Reduce your toilet's water capacity. One of the easiest ways to save water is to reduce your toilet's daily use. Drop a brick, handful of marbles or some other weighted, waterproof object into your toilet cistern to reduce the amount of water it takes to fill and flush your tank. There will be less water in the bowl, and less of your water bill going down the drain.
Please feel free to add any other tips or resources you like in the comments, they would be much appreciated.
and have some fun....

and there's also the mason bees, which don't sting, and you can build or buy homes for since they don't build traditional hives. Instead they nest in wood that has bored out holes in it. In nature made from beetles, but easy enough to reproduce.
I want to get some bee homes for them, wanted to make my own, but should probably bite the bullet and buy one or some, as I just don't have the energy and I don't know if anyone else in my family would want to take the project on.
Theres all kinds of ways of making them, from just drilling holes in wood, or by using dried bamboo sections. I've added some images of examples of homes for solitary bees like the mason bees.
Very very beneficial to your gardens as well. :) and won't sting you. :)
I love the rice game & had forgotten where to find it!!
Clicked through all. =}
