A trip to Shinto Shrine...
I have been wondering how to honor the first moon of the New Year and what God/Goddess to evoke in my ritual. I'd seen some lovely Full Moon Altars with lovely decorations and talismans but did not feel compelled or drawn to one over another. Then today I passed by this lovely Shinto Shrine and new that it was something I should consider. A flood of images came to mind and I went home to research. As I did so I found that unlike most cultures/religious beliefs the Shinto has a Moon God rather than the Moon Goddess. That made me think about a poem I had written with the moon cast as a male. Synchronicity is surly involved with my spiritual development this day!
