Why I wish to join The Temple & how I found out about it...
It sounds interesting to me. I'm adapting magick practices for my personal mental health practices and try to pull inspiration from many places.
About Myself & My Interests...
I love to read and crochet, and I do a lot of drawing and writing. I love my three kitties, my spouse, and my friends. I'm an atheist but I love ritual.
My Teachers & Influences, What was it about them that influenced me?
My father: nothing is as scary once you learn about it; always be learning something
My English teacher from high school: question everything, write a a way of processing things
My best friend: don't let your self concept come from others; be brave because no one is really watching
Sol: don't trust shamans in the woods if they give you a bad vibe: trust the woods.
Authors and/or Books I appreciate:
I really like speculative fiction because the world is strange and possibilities are endless. Beckie Chambers, the Borderlands short story collections, Stephen King (there's a lot of guidance and philosophy in some of those books). I really like Ursula K Leguin also. When I'm not reading fiction, I like pop sociology and biographies.
Musicians and/or Music I appreciate:
My favorite artists right now are Lamb of God, Tool, Ladytron, and Faith no More. I listen primarily to metal, but really appreciate a good pop song here and there. I also really love old school country - it reminds me of my grandpa.
Films and/or Film-Makers & Actors I appreciate:
Unbreakable: I might be a superhero but I won't know if I don't try
Horror genre: I like to pretend to be brave
Science fiction: the possibilities are just endless
Superhero / action: movies are supposed to be fun
Artists and/or Art I appreciate:
I really like Joán Miro, Lenora Carrington, Zdislaw Bekinski, Remedios Varo, Paul Klee.... there are so many amazing stories in their art.
